Fenix Gallery announces the opening reception of its latest exhibition, Collaborations and Conversations, First Thursday, March 7 from 5-8pm. The exhibit will run March 7-April 27.

This exhibit showcases the creative collaborations of the Fenix cooperative artists in addition to guest artists and performers as a response to pertinent questions of our time.

“The key to a thriving civilized society is the creation of successful partnerships with effective compassionate communication. Artists are the empathetic vessels of societal energy and lead the way in creating a universal vocabulary of understanding”, stated curator Steven Schneider.

An offering of innovative solutions that seek to circumvent traditional dialogues, Collaborations and Conversations is a must-see exhibit presenting dynamic 3D works as well as thought provoking 2D and mixed media pieces.

Performance: Lela Besom and dancers from her Explorative Dance Workshop will perform “Winter Seeds Awakening” during the opening reception. The performance is based on butoh dance practices and organic movement, as well as personal and collective inner truths of the dancers. Through this performance ritual, dancers will awaken the community space and transform their wintering dreams into a collective offering in collaboration with spring.

Music: As part of the opening reception, singer-songwriter and luthier Bayard Blain will perform on various instruments he has designed and built.
